Robert C. Tengdin

Chairman of the Board

 

Mr. Tengdin joined Allison-Williams in 1952 and has spent his entire career selling investments to and developing products for institutional investors. He became one of the pioneers in the trading of private placement securities and expanded Allison-Williams’ operations into the institutional private placement marketplace. In 1977, he was elected President of Allison-Williams and subsequently became Chairman of the Board in 1987. Mr. Tengdin served in the U.S. Air Force and earned a BA degree in economics and psychology from St. Olaf College (MN) in 1952, and completed the Investment Banking Studies program at the Wharton School of Finance.  In July 2002, Mr. Tengdin achieved his 50-year anniversary with Allison-Williams Company!

John P. Bly

President

Mr. Bly joined Allison-Williams in 1977 and specialized in the trading and placement of private placement securities. Prior to joining Allison-Williams, he was a research analyst at Dain Bosworth & Co. in the corporate finance and research departments. Mr. Bly entered the investment banking field after being employed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with Touche, Ross, Bailey & Smart in Chicago for eight years.  Mr. Bly earned an L.L.B. degree in 1961 and a B.B.A. degree in accounting in 1959 from the University of Wisconsin (Madison).

David G. Kluender

Senior Vice President

Mr. Kluender joined Allison-Williams in 1978. His work experience with Allison-Williams has ranged from retail sales manager to designing tax-exempt industrial revenue bonds. He presently sells investment products structured to finance project development to institutional investors. Prior to joining Allison-Williams, Mr. Kluender was employed by Juran and Moody, Inc. as sales manager of the retail sales department.

LeRoy N. Sorenson

Senior Vice President, CFA

Mr. Sorenson joined Allison-Williams in 1984 and has been involved in designing a variety of private placements and researching investment opportunities in high-yield fixed-income securities. He heads our Research and due diligence functions.  His deal structuring and negotiation work has involved real estate based financing, asset securitization offerings, and private placement equity and debt transactions for medical device, high-tech, Internet-related, restaurant and elder care companies. Prior to his arrival at Allison-Williams Company, Mr. Sorenson was an economic research assistant at the University of Minnesota from 1978-81. He earned an MBA degree in finance from the University of Minnesota in 1984 and a BA degree in psychology from St. Olaf College (MN) in 1973. Mr. Sorenson was awarded a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1991.

Roxanne R. McGuire

Senior Vice President

Ms. McGuire joined Allison-Williams in 1982. After five years in Allison-Williams’ institutional trading area, Ms. McGuire moved to the Company’s municipal bond area, where she underwrote and traded municipal bonds through 1990. Subsequent to her municipal bond experience, Ms. McGuire led the Company’s trading of non-securitized debt, both mortgage and non-real estate. In addition to these duties, Ms. McGuire now trades private placement debt securities and whole loans.  Ms. McGuire was employed by the securities firm of Piper, Jaffray for three years prior to joining Allison-Williams Company.

Don Keysser

Senior Vice President

Don Keysser joined Allison-Williams in 2006, to provide investment banking services on fixed-income and equity securities transactions, and M&A transactions.  Don has worked extensively as an investment banker, on both public finance and corporate finance sides, including serving as Managing Director at Dain Rauscher and Senior Vice President of Capital Markets at Miller & Schroeder Financial.  Don also is a principal of the consulting firm Hannover Ltd.  Don has an MA in Urban Planning and an MBA in Finance, both from the University of Minnesota, and is on the Adjunct Faculty at Metro State University, teaching corporate finance.

Cedric M. Long

Vice President, CFA

Mr. Long joined Allison-Williams in 1990 and is integral to the Company’s corporate finance capabilities.  He has been primarily involved in arranging private debt and equity capital for companies and projects through private placements with institutional and professional investors, including projects in venture capital, specialty financial services, and real estate.  He has been involved in transactions ranging from about $1 million to over $50 million.  He has also co-developed and managed a specialty private equity fund sponsored by the company, with profitable results.  Mr. Long earned a BA degree in accounting and finance from Bethel College (MN) in 1987 and an MBA degree in finance from the University of Minnesota in 1990.  Mr. Long was awarded a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1995.

Mr. Tengdin joined Allison-Williams in 1999 and is primarily involved in the trading of private placement securities.   Prior to joining Allison-Williams he was involved in origination and trading of private placement securities for nearly 20 years with several other investment banking firms.  Immediately prior to joining the firm he co-founded a start-up technology and promotions company.  He earned a BS degree from the University of Colorado in 1981.

Jeff Betchwars
Vice President

Mr. Betchwars joined Allison-Williams in 2004 to provide investment banking services to financial institutions.  Most recently he has been involved in establishing proprietary mutual funds sponsored by bank and financial holding company subsidiaries. Prior to joining Allison-Williams he worked for twenty-two years in banking and investment banking serving as a business bank CEO and a bankers bank CFO where he also headed the institutional fixed income broker dealer area.  Mr. Betchwars earned a BA degree in public administration from Drake University (IA) in 1975 and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas (MN) in 1981.
